Since 2001, Cleveland Public Theatre
's Big Box program has been fostering original work by independent Northeast Ohio artists by providing access to CPT's resources, including stage management, production staff, box office, and marketing and advertising support. For one week, artists are "given the keys to the theater" to polish their productions, culminating in a full-weekend run. The program often is the key step between a finished script and full production.
Next up for the program is "La Femme," which runs in the James Levin Theatre Thursday February 27 through Sunday March 1.
Directed and conceived by Jennifer Sandoval Eccher, the performance explores themes like: What does it mean to be a woman in today’s society? What obstacles does a woman face regularly and how does she handle them? Does society automatically place limits on what women are capable of? How can we tackle these biases and create a new foundation for the younger generation?
