The nonprofit public health-care system is hiring a media relations specialist for its Brooklyn Heights location. The functions include planning, implementing and evaluating assigned media-related activities. Other functions include writing talking points for interviews, contributing to the development of media relations, and serving as a member of the crisis communications team. Holden Forests and Gardens

The environmental institution is hiring an environmental educator, who will work primarily at the Cleveland Botanical Garden campus. The position will collaborate with the academic and public programs staff, planning, preparing and teaching various informal education experiences to multigenerational audiences. Duties include preparing and organizing educational spaces, including the Hershey’s Children’s Garden. Qualifications include an associate’s degree (bachelor’s degree preferred) with an emphasis in environmental education, natural sciences, horticulture, education, or museum studies, and at least two years of environmental education experience in a similar setting. Holden Forests is also looking for a public relations director to take the lead on story and content creation and external communications, generating media placements across print, broadcast, digital, and other public-facing channels to further the organization’s mission. The director will also be in charge of social media and the quarterly magazine. Requirements include a minimum of five years working as a public relations professional. FreshWater Cleveland

We’re searching for two journalism or communications students to contribute to our publication: one to write stories, and one to handle our social media operations. These internships start in January 2020. Responsibilities for the writing intern include putting together a Free Stamp spread every month and a Who’s Hiring piece every other week. The social media intern will post stories and photos on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter while also monitoring reader responses.
