Cleveland sweet tooths, consider this your golden egg.
Just in time for Easter, two Cleveland sweet-treat staples—Malley’s Chocolates and Brewnuts—are teaming up for a limited-run collaboration: the Carmallow Egg Donut.
It’ll be available April 17, 18, and 19 at all three Malley’s Ice Cream Parlor locations—Lakewood, North Olmsted, and Mentor—as well as at Brewnuts in the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood.
Quantities are limited and will be sold daily while supplies last.
The collaboration takes Malley’s signature Carmallow Egg in a new direction, transforming it into a donut that is equal parts nostalgic and over-the-top.
“We were inspired by their Carmallow Eggs and used their milk chocolate to make an icing to dip our signature yeast-raised ring,” says Shelley Pippin, founder and co-owner of Brewnuts. “We topped it with pieces of Carmallow Egg and drizzled it with our marshmallow sauce and their caramel. It’s decadent, delicious, and just in time for Easter!”
“This is the second time we’ve partnered with Malley’s, and we love scheming up one-of-a-kind treats with them,” Pippin adds. “They’re such a storied brand around Northeast Ohio—so many of us have memories of their treats—so getting to work with them and create unique donuts inspired by their chocolates is a fun full-circle moment for us.”
Mike Malley, chief strategic officer of Malley’s, says the Carmallow Egg is one of their most beloved seasonal treats.
“Seeing it reimagined in donut form is such a fun and delicious way to celebrate the Easter holiday,” he says. “We love working with fellow Cleveland businesses who share our passion for flavor, and we can’t wait for our customers to try it.”
