Free spirit: Cleveland Neighborhood Progress hosts free summer events at Shaker Square


Get ready to unwind and relax at Shaker Square! Beginning this weekend, Cleveland Neighborhood Progress (CNP) will host a regular series at Shaker Square to encourage folks to get out for some fun events that encourage community bonding and interaction—all free of charge.

Warren BenderWarren BenderWith a mission to foster equitable revitalization and enhance economic success and appeal for both current residents and future generations throughout Cleveland's neighborhoods, CNP is staying true to its motto, “Every neighborhood in Cleveland deserves to thrive,” officials hope this new series will encourage people to re-discover Shaker Square, explore unique shopping options, and sample delicious food from locally-owned restaurants.

The series kicks off tonight, Thursday, July 3, at Coyoacan Taqueria & Brew when the flavor and the groove come alive with acoustic musician Warren Bendler, who plays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dive into a night of live music, crave-worthy food, and laid-back vibes. Bring your crew because good times are guaranteed!

Hope HamlingHope HamlingDon’t forget to get all the shopping done for the 4th tomorrow at the North Union Farmers Market, open every Saturday at Shaker Square from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Then on Saturday, July 5, wind down from the fireworks with free community slow yoga session with Hope Hamling, founder of Abide Yoga, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. All yoga levels welcome. Meet on the greenspace in front of Dave's Market, and make sure to bring your mat and a friend!

The events will be running through the summer and into the fall. Each week offers something new, so stay up to date on future community events hosted by Cleveland Neighborhood Progress throughout the season.
