AsiaTown/St. Clair Superior
Share
Some 30,000 Asian-Americans call Cuyahoga County home, making it one of the larger ethnic populations in Cleveland. Loosely bordered by St. Clair and Payne avenues and E. 30th and 40th streets, AsiaTown is where many Chinese Americans call home -- but so too do recent arrivals from Korea, Vietnam and Thailand. But Asian immigrants aren't the only folks who call StClair-Superior home. Attracted by affordable rents, newly converted live-work space, and a wonderful array of retail and services, artists continue to make this up-and-coming district their home. So, too, do scrappy start-ups, who carve out interesting work environments out of the old warehouse stock that is so readily available. Among those businesses are technology companies, recording studios and design shops.
