Postcards from the Ledge: Season's Greetings, from Cleveland Ohio!

All of today's cards are from recent years -- from 1980's-2010's -- and come from Nu-Vista Prints out of Willowick, Ohio and photographer Herman Reuger (Herman has supplied photos for other companies as well). We've tried to include the card ID code that was on the back of these in case folks want to seek their own copies out. Many of these are in a sequential series, so if you increase or lower that ID number by a digit, you'll find similar photos / content.

Real-photo postcards really don't seem to be actually posted as much, and the only theory we've had about that is that, until recently, having a high quality photo of something meant you had a nice camera and some skill, or, in cases like this, bought a nice photo when you saw it. A cheap (relatively) source of quality photos before the interwebs.

As we're entering into the prime time to start mailing holiday cards (subtle hint), let's take a peek at seasonal greetings over the past few decades!

B P AMERICA
Cleveland, Ohio
Towering above the center court of the Atrium at the B P America building stands an elegant blue spruce decorated for the holidays. Visitors enjoy music and a model train display while shopping at the retail shops or dining in the restaurant.

Note: Again, nobody is having issues, they totally hit us with Italian in the second half.

Also, while the BP Building is still at 200 Public Square, still the 3rd tallest building in Cleveland, and still the 4th tallest in Ohio, it is no longer the North American headquarters for BP. BP America moved (mostly) to Chicago when they merged with Amoco in 1998, but they still have offices on a few floors currently.

Note: Italian for the second part again, BUT... as noted, 1228 Euclid Ave was the home of Halle Bros. Co. from 1910 to 1982, it then became office space (the era that this card is from) until 2014 when ownership transferred again, and the ground floor was converted back to retail space, and the upper 5 floors were converted to apartments.
