Good news and bad news: The bad news is that Fresh Water will be taking a break from publishing next week (and some might argue this week, too). The good news is that not only will we be back the first week of January, but that our publication is growing. Thanks to a successful first year, Fresh Water will be adding two new content sections in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to this station. In the meantime, have a fun, safe, and special holiday season filled with family, friends, food and fuzzy pets.

What's the best thing a city can do to achieve more economic success? Increase its number of college graduates. Simply put: The most prosperous cities have the highest number of college grads. Efforts by CEO's for Cities and our own NOCHE -- dubbed the Talent Dividend -- are designed to up college attainment and thereby boost everybody's bottom line.
Black Friday is, blessedly, behind us. So, too, is Cyber Monday. All that stands between today and the holidays are a few weeks of retail panic. Relax, brave shoppers. The end of the NBA lockout came late last Saturday night, a gift to sports fans and downtown businesses alike. B-ball action isn't expected to hit center court until later this year.
