DJ LOLOThe Cleveland Museum of Art’s MIX: Noche de Ritmos (Night of Rhythms) will create an enticing evening of music, dancing, and mingling that celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs through Thursday, Oct. 15.

Grupo Son Gitano, one of Northeast Ohio’s favorite Latin fusion party bands—complete with percussion, vocalists, and horn sections—will perform an irresistible high-energy set, while instructors from Viva Dance Studio teach a salsa dance lesson.

DJ LOLO bookends the evening at 6 p.m.and 8 p.m.—blending Latin house with classic and regional sounds, including salsa, timba, bachata, merengue, cumbia, and reggaeton. Viva Dance Studio will provide a salsa lesson at 6:45 p.m. and Son Gitano will perform at 7 p.m.

Son GitanoThemed food and drink items, including cocktails, beer, and wine, are available to buy from Bon Appétit.

MIX guests are encouraged to view the works by Latin and Hispanic artists, including Picasso, Dalí, Miró, Félix González-Torres, Amaral, and Sánchez, on display in the museum’s permanent collection galleries.

No full-face masks, heavy face paint, glitter, weaponlike props, or excessively oversize costumes are permitted. All outfits are subject to security screening. The Cleveland Museum of Art may refuse entry to any visitor whose attire does not comply with these requirements.

MIX: Noche de ritmos (Night of Rhythms) is on Friday, Oct, 2, is from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in CMA’s Ames Family Atrium. Tickets are $16, $5 for CMA members.
