Renaissance, revolution, and runway: MIX it up with Art Museum's new exhibit and Beyoncé


Hey Beyoncé fans and “Alien Superstars,” be prepared to “Cuff It” from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. this Friday, Nov. 7 at the Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA) during MIX: Renaissance to Revolution.

DJ Lily JadeDJ Lily JadeNovember’s MIX event celebrates the opening of the largest CMA fashion exhibition in the museum’s history—Renaissance to Runway: The Enduring Italian Houses—delving into the historical art inspirations that fuel recent creative Italian lexicon, expanding fantasies of the Renaissance, Mannerist, and early Baroque periods.

At Friday’s “Renaissance to Revolution,” guests can enjoy an evening themed around another Renaissance—the disco-and-house realm of Beyoncé’s Renaissance album.

Throughout the evening, you can “Virgo’s Groove” to the high-energy mixes and musings of DJ Lily Jade and DJ Black Unicorn, co-founder and one of the DJs of Damn Girl, a disco-funk dance party who spin sets of music featuring and inspired by Mrs. Carter’s discography.

Tickets to MIX: Renaissance to Revolution are $5 for CMA members; for non-members tickets cost $16, $18 day of the event, or $25 at the door.
