Last hoorah: Games and giveaways planned for free back-to-school carnival at Tower City Center

Summer speeds by in an instant, so before the school year kicks off, Bedrock will host a Back-to-School Carnival at Tower City Center and in Public Square this Saturday, Aug. 2 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The free family event is designed to give Cleveland kids one more joyful summer experience before heading back to class. Highlights include a 1,000-backpack and school supply giveaway, live entertainment, and classic carnival fun—all tailored for Northeast Ohio families.

Backpacks will be distributed on Level 1 in Tower Court while supplies last. The backpacks will include items such as crayons and pencils, a ruler and an eraser, notebook and folder, hand sanitizer, and more school day essentials.

Other Tower City activities include a bookbag tag craft station, stage shows with games and prizes, face painting, and the Cleveland Public Library play area.

There will be a VR pirate ride, photo booth, stilt walkers, inflatables, an arcade, and jumbo games.

Outside, on Public Square, rides include No Limit, Bear-A-Fair, Merry-Go-Round, Hurricane, Ring of Fire, Drop Zone, Jumbo Slides, Monkey Maze, and Wacky Shack. There will also be carnival games and classic concessions.

Although the event is free, advanced registration is encouraged.
