It’s the third Friday of the month this week, which means 78th Street Studios in the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood is hosting Third Fridays this coming Friday, Aug. 18.
The monthly event is a free open house that showcases the completed work of the tenants, with visual exhibits, ambient music, delicious cuisine, and pop-up vendors on four floors in 170,000 square feet of space in the 1905 Baker Electric Building.
This Friday, many of the resident artist studios and galleries will be open to explore dynamic new exhibits and artwork along with Northcoast Promotions’ selection of guest artisans, all while enjoying live music throughout the building!
Gordon Square craft sandwich bistro Local West will be located in smARTspace, while BARneo will be selling adult beverages on the RAMP Level to benefit the operations of resident museum ARTneo while navigating through an eclectic arts maze.
Featured 78th Street Studios businesses include Talespinner Children’s Theatre, which will be celebrating its new home in the studios with a ribbon cutting; Dawn Tekler Studio, which will be celebrating its 10th anniversary of being in 78th Street Studios; and E11even 2 will host its closing reception for its exhibit “Curb Appeal,” among many others.
There’s a full slate of featured businesses, guest artists, and Third Friday Art Walk highlights in store for this month’s not-to-miss Third Fridays.
