Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland, one of the largest comprehensive health and human services organizations in the region delivering more than 150 services at 60 locations to 400,000 individuals in eight counties each year, is preparing to make and distribute 12,000 holiday meals this April through its annual Easter meals campaign.
Volunteers and staff will provide free meals to the community through on-site service and free home delivery throughout greater Cleveland.
“Hunger threatens the life and dignity of everyone it affects,” director of emergency assistance services Eric Milkie said in a statement. “As the costs of goods and services continue to rise, individuals and families who already face food insecurity will have an exceptionally hard time finding their next meal. Serving this holiday meal is just one way Catholic Charities works to address unmet needs across greater Cleveland, ease the burden of hunger and create a hopeful, caring community.”
Volunteers packing up meals Cleveland transportation carrier Barons Bus, foodservice distributor Northern Haserot, and local parishes contribute food donations and volunteer each year during the Easter meals campaign.
