Care Alliance Health Center and Breakthrough Schools are partnering to host the 2025 Holiday Toy Giveback this Saturday, Dec. 13, offering free toys for children up to age 12, health screenings, and community resources at Breakthrough MidTown. The event supports families facing barriers like housing instability and limited access to resources while providing a joyful holiday experience.

Pregnant with Possibilities Resource Center recently celebrated its 10th anniversary with a gala to honor its achievements in maternal and infant health. The event featured the unveiling of a complete organizational rebrand, recognition of outstanding community members with the Mom on the Move Awards, and fundraising efforts toward a $150,000 goal to support programs serving vulnerable populations.

The Alzheimer's Association's Cleveland Chapter's 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer's at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on Oct. 18 attracted 449,000 participants and 408 teams, and raised $740,701 towards its $825,000 goal. The Association of Black Cardiologists will host a Pop-Up in the Park with free heart health screenings during a weekend of music and community celebration  The event, supported by the Make Them Know Your Name Foundation, educates the community on heart health. Along with health screenings, attendees can enjoy musical performances by notable R&B artists.

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland will distribute 12,000 free holiday meals on Easter, on-site at the Bishop William M. Cosgrove Center and with home delivery throughout greater Cleveland. Volunteers, local businesses, and parishes will help in the effort. Community members can register for meal delivery, volunteer, or make monetary donations.

Broadband connectivity company and cable operator Spectrum, has donated $15,000 to five organizations in Northeast Ohio through its Spectrum Employee Community Grants program. The grants, ranging from $2,500 to $5,000, will support various community initiatives including food distribution, veteran assistance, and clothing provision for low-income individuals.

The Veterans & First Responders Foundation (VFR) has donated 12 thermal imaging devices to fire departments in Willoughby Hills, Highland Heights, and Beachwood. The devices help firefighters in low visibility, improving safety and emergency response capabilities.

Slow Roll Cleveland, a community cycling group that takes leisurely 10-mile bike rides each week through various Cleveland neighborhoods, concludes its 2024 season next week with a Halloween ride—costumes and bike decorations encouraged.

Cleveland State University, AquaMissions, and Cleveland Metropolitan School District are diving into a life-saving partnership to teach 2,500 Cleveland fourth graders critical water safety and swim skills. The program aims to prevent drowning deaths among the region's youth.
